There is much debate about these vases, with Sheilagh Murray in The Peacock and the Lions stating that they were manufactured by Heppel, but the Sowerby - Gateshead Glass book states that these are made by Sowerby and called the Swan vase c. 1882. These are particularly ugly pieces typical of the Victorian period, combining swans with the feet of a lion. This vase is seen in many colours ranging from Vitro-Porcelain selection, to Malachite glass, however the gilding is still intact on these examples making them quite rare.
